Ladies and Gentlemen
Thank
you very much for the invitation to participate in this dialogue.
It is very encouraging that we are making an effort as a society
to engage on this critical issue of gender and transformation.
Thank you very much to all the organizations that worked together
to make this dialogue possible in particular the MDDA, CGE,
SABC, SAHRC and ICASA. We certainly need not forget our difficult
history including that infamous Black Wednesday when apartheid
government banned three publications on the 19th of October
1977.
