Moletsi Community Radio Station Official opening Report

Introduction

This report seeks to up date stakeholders about the successful official opening of the new building of Moletsi community radio station. The official opening was a great success. This report will reflect on partnerships, attendees, important issues and memorable things.

Partnerships

Moletsi Tribal Authority, Government Communication Information System, Office of The Premier, three Municipalities Aganang, Polokwane and Capricorn District, Department of Roads and Transport, SAPS (Seshego) and Department of Labour,Community Development Workers, Anglo Platinum.

Attendance

Almost all those who were invited heeded the invitation.

We had in our midst spokesperson of His Majesty Kgoshi Kgabo Moloto III, Premier of Limpopo Sello Moloto, Chairperson of ANC (Limpopo) Castle Mathale, Executive Mayors Comrade Motalane Monakedi and Mayor Mmanoko Masehela, Aganang Speaker Ntsewa, MDDA Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mtimde, Traditional Leaders, Department of Roads and Transport, Safety and Security, St.Engenas Brass Band, Anglo Platinum HIV/AIDS Coordinator Mina Mokwele, Masenya Masenya Progress Milling Company, Department of Education (Limpopo), Department of Health and Welfare, Department of Agriculture, USAASA, Forgegead, Fraxion,Political Parties, Moletsi Traditional Healers Association,Moletsi Pastors Fellowship, Pastors, Representatives bus company, taxi associations, Community Projects, Councilors and the General Public,
The building was supposed to be officiate by Dr. Manto Tshabalala-Msimang from the Presidency, we received apology letter for Dr Manto Tshabalala-Msimang. Premier Sello Moloto officiated the building.

Memorable

From a tiny four-roomed house, to thirteen-roomed building, MDDA brought changes to the family of Moletjie and surrounding areas. This is history to the Board, staff, sponsor/donors and Community as a whole, because people were viewing community radio station as a training center, Moletsi community radio station irrespective of challenges, the station has achieved its dream of operating like big institutions because services are the same we defer in broadcasting licenses.

Moletsi community radio station is a legacy to the community of Moletši and surrounding areas. The founder Chairperson Doctor A.K.K. Mathatho and the former board members were awarded for initiating the station. This will encourage community members to initiate project that will contribute on poverty alleviation.

We have indicated that our vision is to be the best community radio station in Africa, it may be seen as an achievable vision; we have strategies to achieve our vision that is driven by the needs of community.

Board and Staff members have achieved their priority of developing the organization. To date we have managed to pay monthly incentives to the staff members and they have benefits, commitment and passion of the board and staff members has turned Moletsi community radio station green.

Important:

We should reflect to the four-roomed house (Seshigo High School) that gave birth to nine-roomed building, and be able to identify the gaps that needs to be filled and implement the future.


Conclusion

Moletsi community radio station encouraged other community stations to sweet and keep their grass green, Lets turn all stones to achieve our goals. Lets rub our shoulders with different stakeholders and Traditional leaders should be our patrons.

We further take our hats-off for MDDA, and all sponsors contributed towards a successful official opening.

Lets all take a deep breath and surge on. Move on Moletsi Community Radio Station.
