Applications
The MDDA 2026/27 Call for Applications is opening on 3 July 2026 for four weeks and will close on 31 July 2026. Community media projects, including radio, TV and print publications, as well as small commercial print, are invited to apply. All applications must be submitted via email to applications@mdda.org.za. Click on the funding option on the left-hand menu for the funding you wish to apply for.
Grant Funding FAQ's
You will not be considered if you are currently an active grantee and have a valid grant agreement contract with MDDA.
It is anticipated that it will take 5 months after the closing date.
It will depend on the degree of the previous non-compliance.
There is no threshold in place. Each application must demonstrate reasonability in their budget request.
Yes, all provinces can apply for the 2025 grant call.
MDDA does not accept applications from unlicensed broadcasters. All broadcast applications must have an ICASA license.
Yes, digital publications can apply.
Organisations that have been in existence for less than 24 months, do not need to submit financial statements. If no revenue has been made, the applicant must submit an affidavit indicating that the business has not made revenue and attach the organisations bank statements.
